The World Goes Round and so the Musical Comes Back!
It’s that time of year again! The Seabury Hall Musical!
That’s right and the cast has been working since August! They have been going every single week singing, dancing, and even roller-skating. A revue has been chosen again this year; The World Goes Round with music by John Kander and Fred Ebb. There are about 30 songs in total and 34 cast members as well as many staff, including David Ward, Ms. Schad, Mr. Morissette, Mr. Van Amburgh, Mr. Della Croce, and more, helping with the setup and tech.
With less than a month to go, the cast is vigorously preparing for the final show. Each musical number is unique, with some containing one person, five people, or even the whole cast of 34 students. Some songs are ones you already know like “All That Jazz” while others you may not be as familiar with. One song even has eight cast members on roller-skates, called “The Rink”! Some songs are slow love songs while others may be more like the exciting and upbeat “Coffee in a Cardboard Cup” which was displayed at Seabury Hall’s open house. According to the people in that number, it went really well and they had a lot of enthusiasm. One performer, Gianina Salzer said, “It went really well. We were really prepared for it.” The song truly related to what the world is becoming but from a different era showing how the past circles back. “The trouble with the world today is plain to see, is everything is hurry up” (Coffee in a Cardboard Cup).
