Tatum Hoshino, Staff Writer

Dog lover and pizza enthusiast, Tatum Hoshino was born on the island of Oahu but moved to Maui at the young age of three. Hoshino is currently a freshman at Seabury Hall and is excited for the biology and Hawaiian language courses she will be taking. Previously, Hoshino attended Kalama Intermediate from sixth grade to eighth grade, where she played clarinet and volunteered at the library. Hoshino has been dancing hula for eight years, and in 2015, she placed in the top five at the Miss Keiki Hula Competition on Oahu. Hoshino has paddled with the Hawaiian Canoe Club for two years. She divided this past summer between paddling practices and going to the beach with friends. She loves paddling and is looking forward to continuing with Seabury’s team in the winter. In addition to her impressive athletic resume, Hoshino has her hands full at home with a younger brother named Cade, a pet dog named Bubba, and a rabbit named Mochi that eats dog food. In her free time, Hoshino goes to the Boys and Girls Club to be with her friends and walk around Makawao with them. Beyond her commitments on island, Hoshino enjoys traveling and has been to places such as Japan, Vegas, and the Philippines.
