Sarah Armstrong is currently a senior at Seabury Hall. Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, a small city known for bluegrass tunes, fried food, and being the birthplace of Johnny Depp, Armstrong moved to Maui at age nine. At Kamali’i Elementary School, Armstrong became a fierce dodgeball player, averaging about two bruises a day, and a Webkinz enthusiast, amassing a collection of over 30 plush pets. She has been a competitive swimmer since age six, and although no longer aspiring to make the Olympic Team, she still enjoys the sport. Armstrong spent her junior year as an exchange student in Padua, Italy, where she fell in love with the culture, language, and espresso. Traveling is very important to Armstrong, and she often spends her free time researching potential destinations on TripAdvisor. Because of the supremely warm people, their rich history, and the Dead Sea, Israel is her favorite place she’s been to. Although she thoroughly enjoys writing, her favorite subject is biology, and she plans on pursuing a career in the medical field, perhaps as a trauma surgeon. In her leisure time, Armstrong can be found paddleboarding, playing with her golden retriever, or rewatching Quentin Tarantino films.
